Sunday 3 March is Clean Up Australia Day and for those interested in participating the details are as below.
I am proposing that we clean up along Grieve Parade between Blackshaws Road and Dohertys Road. Council and GMCT are intending to fence, mulch and plant along Grieve Parade and Dohertys Road and improve the outlook of the new community park that will be officially opened to the community at Tree Day on 28 July.
As well, Council is to open the entry to the nature reserve at the bottom of Dohertys Road by removing the uninviting cyclone fencing and replacing it with a post and rail fence and gates. Once planted, the new entry at the bottom of Dohertys Road will be attractive to visitors to the Nature Reserve and the new community park.
As a gesture FOLKC can volunteer to clean up along this section of the park prior to works taking place.
