FOLKC is hoping that once the plans are finalised later this year that Hobsons Bay Council will apply to the Naphine State Government to obtain equal funding for this section of trail to be built in 2014/15 budget period.
Once this section of trail is in place, Hobsons Bay residents can join the trail network at Hosken Reserve in Blackshaws Road, Altona North, and will be linked by the Kororoit Creek Shared Trail to Caroline Springs and to Werribee via the Federation Trail.
Brooklyn residents will also access to Altona North via the trails.
Industry employees working in the Grieve Parade area and in particular the large workforce employed by Toyota Manufacturing Plant will also have access to these trails to commute to and from work.
The next step to link the trail to Cherry Lake in Altona will require the State Government to partner Hobsons Bay Council in the multimillion dollar project that will need to transverse the Geelong Railway lines and the oil pipelines north of Kororoit Creek Road.
The completion of the Kororoit Creek Trail has been identified as a high priority project in
