Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek Inc

Melbourne Water Access Track

The Melbourne Water crushed rock access track has been completed between Burgess Street drain and McArthurs Road in Altona North giving the community a walking trail between McArthurs Road and Blackshaws Road. Several falls in this area were the direct result of not having a proper path, Len for one has had a couple of falls here when out bird watching.

Once the sections of walking trail between Barnes Road and McArthurs Road and the trail between Blackshaws Road to the Westgate Bridge are complete, approximately 6km of walking trail will be available for use by the community to enjoy the scenery and bird life along the Kororoit Creek.

The only section that is inaccessable preventing the development of a looped trail from Barnes Road to the Westgate Freeway, is the Aboriginal heritage site that is managed? by Greater Metropolitan Cemetery Trust.
