Visit by the Federal Minister for Environment, Hon.Greg Hunt MP. Launch of Melbourne's West 1,000,000 Tree Project

The Hon. Greg Hunt MP (Federal Minister for Environment) visited this years National Tree Day Site in Kororoit Creek, to launch the 1,000,000 Tree Project for Melbourne's West. Members of FOLKC came along and joined in the activities. The event took place in Harris Reserve, Marsh Street, adjacent to the Bocce Club, where Mr Hunt planted the first of the 1,000,000 trees in the National Tree Day site for plantings in 2015. All enjoyed the coffee, pastries & cakes.










Hello FOLKC!

Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek (FOLKC) was incorporated in April 2001 and held its first planting on 3rd June 2001. Since then there have been countless planting days and other working bees with more than 1,000 volunteers of all ages, planting in excess of 50,000 trees, shrubs and under-storey plants along the creek ... [See the "About & Contacts" page for more]
